Well known since prehistoric time, the natural and essential elements that helped Tuscania to be what it actually is nowadays, were its geographical position, climate and the wealth of its waters.
It was an intellectual division of the inhabitants of Tuscania who understood how to take the maximum advantage of the artistic and cultural growth by conferring the city its highest splendour through the passage of almost three thousand years of history and events: Etruscan and Roman period, Middle Ages conquerors, militants of Carlo Magno and pontiff troops who had known and loved Tuscania appreciating its panorama and monuments.
